RMC has just released a trailer for the upcoming French Top Gear, which will premiere on 3.18.15.
I'm surprised I'm even saying this, but there may be hope here. This could actually end-up being half-decent, though it seems to take a LOT of ideas from previous Top Gear UK episodes. We'll have to wait for the first episodes to see if they manage to build on these ideas, or if this is just a very expensive translation.
What's surprising is that they appear to be using TGUK's test track. Certainly not a bad idea but I didn't see it coming.
What do you guys think? Is there hope, or is this just a tasteless omelette du fromage?

You're right : "there may be hope". Ans even if it's not as surprising as TGUK, for sure it'll still be better than the TGUK with French dubbing.

I expect a lot of jokes against the English here.

Looks good but their English is awful, I can't understand a word they are saying. Is it one of those south western England accents?
#justkidding Lol.

And why not. We aren't easily offended by jokes if that is how they are meant.
We Brits are quite self deprecating.

That is all true. TGUK is funny because of all this, imagine if others got it right too?

Argentina don't get it which makes it funnier rather than less funny. Go Chile, wooooo.
Lol.

The original text confused me for a short while. 18th month? Ah, Americans. Thanks for the fix!

I'm French and work with an American company so I got used to switching between both formats all day long :-).

Nothing can be worse than TGUK with French dubbing. I'd rather get stabbed with a rusty kitchen spoon dipped in acid.

Why the hell not! We're used to joking on the Brits, and we're used to them making fun of us. The latter is more amusing though.

Yeah and in good French fashion they don't offer subtitles on the trailer. That's an habit that'll probably never change!

Good on 'em, good old Frenchies. We have quite a bit of banter with them like anyone does with their neighbour but our countries are getting closer all the time politically, militarily and socially which can only be good for us both.

Actually even though the test track looks like TGUK's it is very much in France, in Brienne-le-Château near Troyes :
As there is only one runway the track should bee a little less interesting than TGUK's.
We'll see...
